Full product description

A small lemon cross stitch pattern for your kitchen

Lemons in Blue is a counted cross stitch pattern PDF for a miniature fruit still life: three golden lemons, green leaves, a cobalt blue bowl, and a sliced lemon on a terracotta table. The finished embroidery can be framed for a kitchen shelf, breakfast nook, or another sunny corner of your home.

This is a digital hand-embroidery pattern, not a finished piece or a kit. The design uses full crosses throughout, with no backstitch, fractional stitches, blended threads, beads, or knots. It is intended for confident beginners who can count stitches and follow a symbol chart.

Pattern details and finished sizes

  • Stitch count: 56 wide × 42 high; 2,352 full crosses.
  • Palette: 9 DMC stranded-cotton colors, worked with two strands on 14-count Aida.
  • Full coverage: every chart square is stitched, including the cream background.
  • 14-count Aida: 4.00 × 3.00 in / 10.16 × 7.62 cm.
  • 16-count Aida: 3.50 × 2.63 in / 8.89 × 6.67 cm.
  • 18-count Aida: 3.11 × 2.33 in / 7.90 × 5.93 cm.

Finished measurements describe the stitched design only. For 14-count Aida, the suggested fabric cut is 26 × 23 cm; adjust the margin for your chosen frame or finishing method.

What is included in the PDF pattern package?

  • A4 print PDF, 8 pages: cover, DMC thread key, stitching guide, color overview, two enlarged black-and-white working panels, and two matching color panels.
  • US Letter print PDF, 8 pages: the same complete pattern, formatted for US Letter paper.
  • Digital PDF, 2 pages: one continuous monochrome vector chart for zooming and a thread-key page.
  • Start Here text guide, exact-chart stitch simulation, pixel reference, CSV thread key, and editable pattern data.

All three PDFs contain the same design. Choose either the color or monochrome working panels and stitch the design once. The panels join between rows 21 and 22, without overlap. Print the matching A4 or Letter edition at Actual Size; the print editions also contain the complete stitching guide.

Materials you will need

Use light Aida, DMC stranded cotton, a size 24 tapestry needle, scissors, and a hoop or frame. The thread key lists DMC 3865, 3779, 890, 3011, 820, 797, 972, 725, and 745. The supplied model estimates one 8 m skein of each color for 14-count fabric with two working strands; actual thread consumption has not been measured. Fabric, floss, tools, and framing materials are not included.

Preview, testing, and usage

The first gallery image is an AI-styled lifestyle mockup, not a photograph of a stitched sample. The chart views use the actual stitch grid. Screen colors are approximate. The digital grid and exports have been checked; a physical stitch-out, thread-color and coverage checks, paper printing, and app import remain untested.
